Whey Protein Shakes
Protein shakes are a high protein drink made from whey protein powder and either milk or water. Whether you make your protein shake with water or milk depends on personal taste. Milk is arguably more tastier but makes for a much thicker milkshake consistency and can lead to indigestion or wind. The additional milk does however increase your protein intake. Mixed with water your shake will be much thinner, perhaps not as tasty but will be unlikely to give you much wind.
Protein shakes can be made yourself using protein powder or can come pre-mixed, or “Ready To Drink” (RTD). The RTD variety will be more expensive but that is the price you pay for convenience. If you are on the move or busy after training a RTD Protein shake in your gym bag is ideal. Likewise a protein bar.
